Behringer’s Odyssey is a faithfully reborn version of the rarefied classic that played a pivotal role in synthesizer evolution and forever redirected the course of popular music. Behringer’s Odyssey is also loaded with features and connectivity options that simply weren’t available during the original’s 1972-1981 lifespan. More than anything else, Behringer’s Odyssey is a highly affordable, usable, and capable gateway to your own personal analog voyage of creativity.

Specifications-wise, Behringer’s Odyssey is a dead ringer for the original dual VCO, duophonic architecture--capable of delivering the ripping hooks heard on hits by The Cars, sweeping soundscapes of Tangerine Dream, and even the voice of RD-D2. Behringer’s Odyssey is also equipped with a three-position switch that gives you instant access to all three VCF filter designs used during the original run: the MKI 4023 2-pole, 4035 4-pole “ladder style” MKII, and final MKIII 4075 4-pole revision, plus an added drive switch for harder edged sounds.

Above the 37 full-sized, velocity-sensitive semi-weighted key-bed, you’ll find a vintage accurate control surface with 35 sliders, 25 switches, and three pressure-sensitive pitch and modulation pads, but don’t let that intimidate you. Along with its raucous and ripping sonic potential, Odyssey earned the titles of “the 1ST Punk Rock synth” and the “Performance-Style” synth due to its intuitively laid-out, easy-to-learn layout—Plus, Behringer added LED illumination to each slide control for easy identification on dark stages or mood-lit studio environments.

Beyond the vintage sound and experience, Behringer added modern essentials like a 32-step sequencer, arpeggiator, and Klark Teknik 24-bit, studio-grade FX suite that dramatically enhances this reborn Icon’s sound-crafting potential. Behringer also has you covered with all the modern and essential connectivity you’ll need for integration and workflow with your modern digital set-up, including--MIDI I/O over USB and DIN connections, sustain and portamento footswitch jacks, external audio In, CV I/O, Gate I/O, balanced XLR and 1/4" Main outputs, and 1/4" Headphone jack.
