The Chandler REDD.47 Microphone Preamplifier is a meticulous re-creation of the legendary EMI REDD.51 recording console tube preamp, originally used at Abbey Road Studios and immortalized on iconic records by artists such as the Beatles. This modern version offers up to 57 dB of gain—an enhancement over the original—allowing for a wide range of tonal options, from clean and pristine to the gritty distortion famously heard on the Beatles’ "Revolution."

The preamp provides exceptional control with its stepped voltage gain input, variable fine gain adjustment, and variable output control. It also features a Rumble Filter with 8 selectable frequencies (30 to 180 Hz), making it easy to manage low-end noise.

In addition to microphone use, the REDD.47 is equipped with a front-panel 1/4" Hi-Z input for DI applications and an XLR input that supports line-level signals, making it a versatile tool for amplifying, enhancing tone, or introducing harmonic distortion to virtually any audio source.
