This unique Custom Shop creation is based on a priceless 1955 Stratocaster, with some distinctive differences that seasoned vintage guitar lovers will immediately recognize and others that can only be felt. For example, the single-ply, 8-hole guard, skunk-stripped soft V neck profile, wide-spaced black dot markers, and lightweight original contour Ash body all scream ’55 Strat. However, the visually striking “flashy but classy” faded Aztec Gold Nitrocellulose finish is popular with today’s players but not available in the 50s or '60s-- and is a rare (but welcome) find on vintage reissues. Once strapped on and plugged in, the hard-to-see built-in player advantages become instantly recognizable. The relic-style 5-way selector provides easy access to the out-of-phase in-between positions, and the reverse wound middle pickup bucks the 60-cycle hum in positions 2 and 4. With the much flatter than vintage 10” radius fingerboard atop the soft-V neck, the beauty of this spit personality vintage feel/modern performance Custom Shop Strat comes alive.
