The special edition 2013 Guitar Center Deluxe Precision Bass Special is actually a pure and powerful hybrid of the two titans of Fender bass, the Precision and Jazz® basses. It takes the classic form of the Precision and endows it with a potent P/J configuration - a Vintage Special split single-coil Precision Bass pickup complemented by a growling Vintage Special Noiseless single-coil Jazz Bass bridge pickup. Together with a slender Jazz Bass neck with a "modern C" profile and black binding, it's a remarkably refined instrument.
Other premium features include a 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets and elegant black block inlays, multi-ply pickguard (four-ply tortoiseshell on Black model; three-ply parchment on Sea Foam Metallic model), three knurled chrome "flat-top" control knobs (middle pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, master tone), Badass® II bridge with grooved saddles, and "Precision Bass Special" headstock decal.
