Kirk Hammett, the legendary lead guitarist of Metallica, collaborated with the luthiers at Gibson Custom to create the Gibson Custom Kirk Hammett Raven—a distinctive addition to the renowned Gibson Custom acoustic guitar lineup. Designed as the dark counterpart to the iconic Gibson Hummingbird™, the Raven features a square-shoulder body with mahogany back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top. Traditional scalloped Advanced X-bracing delivers the classic tonal balance and warmth that have defined Gibson acoustics for generations.

The mahogany neck features a comfortable Round profile and a bound ebony fretboard with 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl star inlays. With a 16" (406 mm) radius, the fretboard allows for fast, fluid solos. The headstock is equipped with Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, while the bridge pins, compensated saddle, and nut are all crafted from TUSQ® for smooth and stable tuning. The Gibson logo and a distinctive raven skull inlay—both inlaid in mother-of-pearl—adorn the headstock for a striking aesthetic touch.

Reflecting Gibson’s tradition of wildlife-inspired designs, the Kirk Hammett Raven includes custom, highly ornate raven-themed double pickguards and a matching raven-inspired tailpiece accent. It comes equipped with an L.R. Baggs™ Element VTC +4 preamp and under-saddle pickup, providing an additional 4 dB of output for enhanced stage and studio performance. Discreet volume and tone controls are mounted inside the soundhole for easy access without detracting from the guitar’s appearance.

The Kirk Hammett Raven is finished in Ebony nitrocellulose lacquer and comes housed in a black Gibson Custom hardshell case featuring a matching raven skull graphic. Each limited edition instrument includes a certificate of authenticity, a raven-themed strap, and a soundhole label personally signed by Kirk Hammett. Only 100 units will be handcrafted by Gibson Custom’s expert luthiers in Bozeman, Montana, making this striking, raven-themed model a rare and collectible masterpiece.
