Now featuring the Gibson-exclusive, custom-voiced Baggs HiFi DNA™ pickup system, the SJ-200 Standard faithfully captures the guitar’s powerful acoustic character and playing dynamics with remarkable authenticity when amplified.

Built with AAA figured maple back and sides and topped with solid Sitka spruce, the SJ-200 Standard delivers the bold, resonant voice and impressive projection players have come to expect from this legendary model. Traditional scalloped X-bracing enhances its tonal response, while a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish highlights the instrument’s beauty. Available in a selection of finishes, the guitar also features a two-piece maple neck with a walnut center stringer, a comfortable Round profile, and a bound rosewood fretboard fitted with 20 standard frets. Mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays complete one of the model’s most iconic visual signatures.

The bound headstock features Gibson’s classic logo and crown inlays in mother of pearl. Gold Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, paired with a TUSQ® nut, provide dependable tuning stability and smooth operation. Additional hallmark appointments include the legendary SJ-200 pickguard and the distinctive two-bar rosewood Moustache™ bridge. A TUSQ saddle and matching bridge pins round out the premium hardware package.

The SJ-200 Standard is now equipped with the Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. This active design utilizes two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate and pairs them with individually optimized preamps to produce a rich, natural amplified acoustic tone. The system preserves the guitar’s inherent personality while leaving its unplugged sound unaffected. It also delivers feedback resistance comparable to that of an under-saddle pickup design. Convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow for quick adjustments during performance while remaining virtually invisible to audiences.
