The PMC8-2 is the PMC6-2’s big brother – a 3-way active studio monitor intended for mid-field applications. It features two completely custom 8” bass drivers, the custom PMC55 midrange and ‘n-compass’ waveguide that debuted in the CI Series, and the classic ScanSpeak tweeter used in the IB1SA mk3.

The speaker is powered by the same 4x400W amplifier used in the PMC6-2, and again each bass driver is powered by its own independent amp channel.

The PMC8-2 is intended to match the IB1SAmk3 in terms of performance but deliver enhanced features and a new level of user customisation.

The PMC8-2 does not feature mounting threads on the sides of the speaker as it is too heavy to be mounted in this way. A custom yoke that goes all the way around the speaker can still of course be sourced/supplied by the installer or end user.

A stand will be available for the PMC8-2, placing the listening axis at 1.3m from the ground (matching the established height of our larger pro monitors).

The PMC8-2 can be combined with the PMC8-2 SUB to form an XBD system, increasing LF headroom in the same manner as our other XBD systems. A stand to position the PMC8-2 XBD system at appropriate height will also be available.
