Why you need the Roland V-Combo VR-09 Keyboard
With Roland's newest addition to the acclaimed V-Combo series, the VR-09 boasts an incredibly portable 61 key, all-in-one solution for the performing musician. The VR-09 features Roland's top level sounds with dedicated piano, organ, and synth engines in three completely intuitive blocks on the front panel. With nine sliders and an array of buttons and knobs, tone shaping and parameter tweaking is right at your fingertips.
The VR-09's organ section features Roland's new SuperNATURAL-powered Virtual Tone Wheel organ with nine harmonic bars. Additionally, there is a newly developed transistor-type '60s organ tone. The 61 note keyboard, with its ultra-fast response, is perfect for trill, sputter, glissando, and percussive hits. The onboard rotary speaker and amp simulators reproduce the the characteristics of vintage organ speaker cabinets and overdriven tube circuits with incredible realism.
For the Piano Man, the VR-09's pro-quality acoustic and electric pianos (including the grand piano with 88 note stereo multi-sampling) deliver tones that rival Roland's highly-praised stage pianos. With the many popular electric piano sounds, Roland has also included vintage effects such as phaser and tremolo. The VR-09 also has a dedicated knob for the built-in compressor that can help to cut through the mix when needed.
When it comes to synth sounds, the V-Combo VR-09 has no shortage of presets. From vintage analog classics like Juno strings and '80s synth brass to modern digital tones, the VR-09 will not disappoint. The front panel controllers allow for tweaking synth tones in real time with the Harmonic Bar including Attack, Decay, Release (ADR) as well as Cutoff and Resonance. There are also onboard contemporary effects like Bit Crasher, Slicer, Step Phaser, Ring Modulator, and many more to further manipulate the sound.
As with many of Roland's keyboards, the VR-09 can play MP3/WAV/SMF song files allowing you to use backing tracks or play along with your favorite songs. Additionally, there is a Looper to record and loop patterns as well as built-in rhythm patterns for drum accompaniment.
Roland also includes a free VR-09 Editor app for the iPad which allows you to control your organ and synth sound engines. You can also use Roland's wireless connect for cable free connection between your VR-09 and iPad.
